Meet The doctor

Dr. Ben Atlas was born and raised in San Diego, California, and is the second oldest of 6 kids. He attended UCLA, where he was a member of the UCLA Cheer Squad and earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Psychobiology. He then went on to the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco and graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2017 while on a Navy Health Professions Scholarship. Following graduation, Dr. Atlas was commissioned into the United States Navy as a Dental Officer. During his time in service, Dr. Atlas spent two years aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln Aircraft Carrier, including a record-breaking around-the-world deployment. He also earned his Master’s in Oral Biology with the U.S. Army while completing a 2-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD), graduating top of his class. He spent his last two years at the Naval Medical Center at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, providing Comprehensive dental care to Sailors and Marines. During his 7 years of service, Dr. Atlas persevered through many challenging experiences, which taught him invaluable lessons in resilience, toughness, and gratitude. Dr. Atlas has learned to embrace the Navy Values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment and works hard to live by those values in his everyday life.

Today, Dr. Atlas is thrilled and honored to be serving the Sparks and Reno community! He is committed to being a lifelong learner and strives to stay current and up to speed in the ever-changing field of dentistry. He’s also an active member in the dental community; Dr. Atlas is a member of the American Dental Association, the Northern Nevada Dental Society, a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (an accomplishment only 6% of dentists achieve!), and is also a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry. He takes pride in his meticulous attention to detail, pain-free approach, and emphasis on providing comprehensive dental treatment, resulting in high-quality and rewarding dental care for his patients. 

In his free time, Dr. Atlas and his partner, Josh, love to travel, visit theme parks, snowboard, and, of course, spend time with their two cats, Zack and Zoey. They live an active lifestyle and feel lucky to settle and explore all that the Northern Nevada area has to offer!
